About us

Who We Are

OUR BELIEFS

OUR VALUES:

KNOW We want every person to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. God has created us to worship him, and we find true meaning in life when we do what he has created us to do.

GROW We want every person to grow in their relationship with Jesus by connecting with other believers and using their gifts to serve within the church and community.

GO We want every believer to live on mission every day. God has called us to reach people for Jesus in our workplaces, schools, and neighborhoods.

OUR MISSION: Our mission is to glorify God and make disciples.

OUR BELIEFS:

Our basic beliefs are summed up in the Baptist Faith & Message 2000. We are part of the Southern Baptist Convention (globally), the Florida Baptist Convention (statewide), and the Manatee Southern Baptist Association of churches (locally). Even though we are a member of the Southern Baptist Convention, we are an autonomous church.

The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.

OUR STORY

OUR PAST:

North River Church began as a church plant from West Bradenton Baptist Church in October of 2010 with the goal of reaching the growing community of Parrish. In April of 2013, NRC became an autonomous church. In January of 2015, the church purchased 10 acres of land on Fort Hamer Road. After meeting at Williams Elementary for almost exactly 10 years, we moved into our facility at 5525 Fort Hamer Road in October of 2020.

OUR FUTURE:

As the community in Parrish continues to grow, we recognize the tremendous opportunity before us to be a beacon of light in this area for Christ. The future is bright for North River Church, and we are excited to see God continue to move in incredible ways in the life of our church in the years ahead.
